World No Tobacco Day

World No Tobacco Day is created by the member states of the World Health Organisation (WHO), in 1987. It is observed globally around the world every year on May 31.  World No Tobacco Day is a campaign that wants to show the danger and the negative health effects of tobacco smoke. Tobacco and smoking cigarettes is not good for the body, and tobacco use Ieads to lung cancer. Every year, nearly 6 million people died because of the global tobacco epidemic. In 2012, the campaign has focused on the need to expose and counter the tobacco industry’s brazen and aggressive attempts to undermine the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC).
World No Tobacco Day has been met with both passion and resistance around the world from governments, public health organisations, smokers, growers, and the tobacco industry. For instance, the majority of tobacco growers feel that anti-tobacco efforts by organizations like WHO threaten their rights. The International Tobacco Growers Associations (ITGA) claims these efforts may be an attack on the industry. They also argue that poor farmers in Africa may suffer the consequences if WHO anti-tobacco movements succeed.
A lot of people consider WNTD like an ineffective attempt to limit smoking. This campaign has an invisible effect in places such as the former USSR, India, and China. For others, WTDN is seen as a form of discrimination. However, celebrate World No Tobacco Day as your opportunity to quit smoking once and for all.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
Mother’s Day is a day to honor mothers and motherhood. It is a day to make our mothers feel special. In 1908, Mother’s Day was first celebrated in The United States when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother. She also began a campaign to make “Mother’s Day” a recognized holiday in US. This day is celebrated all over the world on various days. It was given different meanings, associated to different events, such as: legendary, historical or religious.
Australia celebrates Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May and it is not a public holiday. The tradition of giving presents to mothers on Mother’s Day in Australia was started in 1924, by Mrs Janet Heyden. When she visited a patient at the Newington State Home for Women, she met a lot of lonely mothers. Trying to make them happy, she began the tradition. The flower that is given to mothers on this day is called Chrysanthemum. The name Chrysanthemum comes from the Greek words: chrysos that means gold and anthemon that means flower. This lovely flower is also called mums or chrysanths.
In my country, Macedonia, the most popular flower that is given on this particular day is called Karanfil (Carnation). Mother’s Day is a public holiday and it is commemorated on 8th March. Children give their mothers flowers and lovely cards. Mothers usually go out and party with their friends in a fancy restaurant. My brothers and I, always give a special present and beautiful red flowers to our mum.

Parents behave like monsters!!!

I can't explain how I'm feeling after reading these terrible stories! I can't even understand what type of parents they are. How could they treat their chinldren in that way?? It's HORRIBLE..

In one story a 28-year-old mother locked her daughters in their bedroom, where the temperature was minus 34 degrees Celsius. The girls were punished for wetting their bed. The mother and her boyfriend called the Police after they had found the three-year-old daughter dead in the bed. Her younger sister suffered hypothermia. The window in their bedroom was opened even it was so cold. The parents were arrested and accused for manslaughter and being criminally negligent of homicide. When Police got to thier home, Mr Tilden was drunk and two bottles of whisky were empty.

Another similar story was about a 10-year old boy who died of dehydration after his father left him in a locked room which was extremely hot. After five days without water he died when peanut butter stuck in his throat. Sadly, his older brother was a witness of this crime but he couldn't help him.

In another story a three-year old boy was locked in a freezing dark room and almost died of starvation. He didn't have food and he ate his hair. His parents took camera phone footage of him where he crying and hitting himself.

I personally think that adults who are not prepared for chidren SHOULDN'T HAVE KIDS.
I believe these people have mental problems, because normal people is not able to behave like that.
I'm  really happy bacause I have nice parents. I love them and I admire them. I'm grateful for the way they have brought me up.
